How to sponsor a trainee teacher with GLF Teacher Training and The GLF Foundation

With our network of 43 schools, GLF Schools are keen to place as many talented trainee teachers within our schools as possible, to feed a pipeline of skilled teachers to serve our students across the trust and it's variety of socioeconomic and geographical regions. 

However, it is the harsh reality that budget-strapped schools are not always able to fund their own trainee places, either by funding the training, paying a trainee teacher or covering a PT or mentor to provide one-to-one support. 

To that end, the GLF Trust funds a number (up to 6 trainee places for 26/27) of PGTA training places each year via the aprentice levy pot, with schools who are unable to fund their own trainee teachers able to apply to the trust for this funding. 

However with 43 schools, and hundreds of applicants who we have to turn away every year, we need to be able to provide more funded and salaried places and this is where YOU come in. You can sponsor a trainee to train with GLFT Teacher Training!

You may wish to remain anonymous when making your sponsorhip pledge, or you may wish to take advantage of the promotional opportunities available to you for taking part in such a worthwhile enterprise, and in doing so encourage others to get involved. 

As such we have put together the following options for you (NB: bespoke options can be discussed on request):

Package 1: Platinum - Salaried Teacher Training Route

Pay the course fees (C£9k) plus the trainee salary for 1 year: Total: £35,000*

You receive: Feature page on GLFTT website, including impact statement from trainee, with links to your site. Launch event/publicity. 1 x social media post per month. Logo on GLF Foundation page. Logo/story on partner school page. Invitation to attend graduation. Annual updates on trainee progress (up to 5 years from graduation).

Package 2: Gold - Postgraduate Teacher Apprenticeship (PGTA)

Pay trainees salary for 1 x year: £22,601 - 24,066* (plus on-costs)

Package 3:  Silver - Postgraduate Teacher Apprenticeship

Pay 60% of the trainee salary for 1 year (school pays 40%): Total: 24,600* 

You receive: Page on GLF TT web, with links to your site. Launch event/publicity. 1 x social media post per month.

Package 4: Bronze - PGTA or Fee Funded

Pay the course fees (C£9k) - School to pay trainee/ or trainee to be unpaid: Total: £9,000*

You receive: 1/2 page on GLF TT web, with links to your site. Launch event/publicity. 1 x social media post per month.

Package 5: Donation

Make a donation to the Foundation in any amount to be used towards a hardship fund for our trainee teachers. Trainees can apply to the fund for assistance for things such as travel costs, essential equipment (eg laptop) or similar. 

You receive: Feature on sponsors page on GLF TT web, with links to your site. Launch event/publicity. Annual breakdown of payments allocated from the hardship fund. 

*NB: All costs are approximate. Exact trainee teacher salary band will depend on location.
