Who are GLF Teacher Training - A place where you belong and can learn, grow and flourish.
GLF Teacher Training is a partnership of primary and secondary phase schools united in delivering effective teacher training across Southeast England; Surrey, Croydon, Oxfordshire, Reading, West Sussex, Wokingham, and Hampshire. Through our collaboration with our wider partnership schools and our 43 Trust schools, we offer high-quality, school-based training, excellent pastoral support, and a commitment to supporting our trainees into their first teaching post within our schools. Our retention and employment rates speak for themselves.
94% of GLF’s 24-25 trainee cohort gained employment with 66% of Secondary trainees and 71% of Primary trainees gaining employment within a GLF/partner school.
As a lead provider of Initial Teacher Training within a larger network called Inspiring Future Teachers, we proudly offer an array of routes into teaching, including salaried, teacher apprenticeships, assessment-only, and fee-funded options. We can help you find the right route for you. Some training routes may also come with a DFE training bursary, which supports the cost of the training. leading provider of Initial Teacher Training within a larger network called Inspiring Future Teachers, we proudly offer a range be eligible for a DFE training bursary, which helps cover
GLF Teacher Training is proud of the diversity of our trainee teachers, ensuring a diverse workforce who will go on to support our GLF pupils and partner schools. In 24-25 42% of trainee teachers were non-white British. We are committed to GLF Teacher Training being a place to train where everyone belongs. Our diversity champions of present and past trainees are always on hand for peer support and advice.
We are also proud of the support we offer our trainee teachers, many of whom stay with GLF as Early Career Teachers. We are committed to the pastoral care we offer our trainee teachers, who are starting their journey in our GLF family.
We signpost the school placements clearly when applying to GLF SCITT, so you can apply directly to a main placement school of your choice. We know this is important to our trainees. We also have training venues in different locations, as we recognise that training locally once a week is also important to our potential trainees.
You will be trained by an experienced ITT primary and secondary school leader in one of two of training venues in Surrey or Oxford/Reading. You will learn from a range of practising school leaders who support core training sessions to ensure you have access to current teacher experience and a variety of different school insights.
