Who are Inspiring Future Teachers? 

GLF SCITT is what is known as a Lead Partner, running teacher training as part of a wider teacher training network called Inspiring Future Teachers. Inspiring Future Teachers is the DfE (Department for Eduction)* accredited provider for many of the GLF Teacher Training programmes.  

Inspiring Future Teachers (IFT) has been established through a partnership of Multi-Academy Trusts, Teaching School Hubs, Curriculum Hubs, Research Schools and existing SCITT providers with many years of experience in leading Initial Teacher Training in their local areas.

IFT offers a balanced training delivery model. Around 50% of the centre-based training is delivered face to face in a local training centre providing our trainees with all the benefits of a supportive network and active learning, this is combined with some work from home online learning days to support wellbeing and reduce the time and costs associated with travelling to training centres. 

Working with IFT means that we can offer all of the benefits of being part of a large national programme, whilst at the same time providing locally delivered school-based training in either a primary or a secondary school and via a local training hub.

We are therefore stronger together, providing more opportunities for our trainee teachers.

Other partners collaborating with GLF Teacher Training 

GLF SCITT also work closely with other providers of teacher education to ensure we have a teacher training route available for all.

We also work with Brighton University, Buckingham University and TES offering alternative routes into teaching, such as degree routes into teaching, to ensure no one is left behind and unable to fulfil their dream of becoming a teacher.
