School Experience Taster Day

School Experience with GLF Teacher Training

Find out what it's like to work in a school at one of our 'school experience' events.

We believe that having some school experience is highly beneficial if you are considering training to be a teacher as it allows you to see the nature of the role and ensure that it is right for you before you apply or undertake your training.

  • To support potential applicants and gain this invaluable experience, GLF Teacher Training offers one-day School Experience visits to a selection of schools within our partnership. These experience days are only open to eligible candidates to start teacher training programmes in our next cohort.
  • Often those keen to train like to pre-visit the school they are applying to, so they are familiar with it aims and values.
  • Our School Experience programme in any of our GLF schools can be found by visiting the Department for Education’s School Experience site Get school experience - GOV.UK

What will you experience at the event:

  • observing lessons and different teaching styles
  • interacting with pupils and staff
  • experiencing being in a school first hand
  • seeing how specific subjects are taught
  • learning more about the teacher training process

All events will run from 9:30am to 2:45pm and will conclude with a Get into Teaching presentation, followed by an opportunity for attendees to ask questions during a Q&A session.
